ITS ALL ABOUT EXPLANATION = DATA
FILES


~Area

You can probably judge by the title that these are the map files for
every map in SF. These files can be modified, and will not be checked by
the SF engine. You may alter any of the textures, and put in your own
by overwriting them. There are various textures that are shared among
maps, so modding a door for Shanghai might show up in Missile too. There
are map specific textures that are for shading purposes. These create
the shadowing effects on the maps. It is not recommend you edit these as
there isn't really much benefit. In order to mod an entire map's look,
you may have to go through several *.sff files and find all the textures
belonging to that map. However, most of the map files are in
area_001.sff Some of the files are actually event files and do not need
to be edited. Such as the black box (which is orange strangely) at
Kinabalu also has a event texture. Editing a map is the hardest and
longest project in SF modding.

Files explanation:

area_001.sff ~ contains almost all map files for every map except
Venezia, Village, and Factory. Has sky textures, object textures, shadow
textures, wall and door textures, backgrounds, some event item
textures, ground textures, most of the world *.wld files.
area_002.sff ~ contains NHN logo textures. Original Size
area_003.sff ~ contains mor NHN logo textures. Original Size
area_004.sff ~ contains config and *.wld files for several maps, most
likely to fix glitches.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
area_005.sff ~ contains a SF logo. Original Size
area_006.sff ~ contains config and *.wld files for Desert Camp, most
likely to fix glitches.
area_007.sff ~ contains config and *.wld files for several maps, most
likely to fix glitches. Seems to be the same as area_004.sff.
area_008.sff ~ contains new config files and crate texture for most of
the SF maps to fix crate and bomb glitching.
area_009.sff ~ contains a few files for Desert Camp, most likely to fix
glitches again. Original Size.
area_010.sff ~ contains most venezia map textures.
area_011.sff ~ contains config files and lighting config files for
Fortress.
area_012.sff ~ contains 2 psf logo textures.
area_014.sff ~ contains config, and *.wld files for several maps, a bug
fix(?), and missile ladder files; most likely to fix glitches.
area_015.sff ~ contains most Factory map textures, and files.
area_016.sff ~ contains many files for Village and Venezia. But also a
Nuclear bug fix, map config files to fix glitching, and several files
for Silo, and Turbulence maps.
area_017.sff ~ contains config and *.wld files as well as new ground
lighting files for many of the maps.
area_018.sff ~ contains config and *.wld files for NeoMissile and
NeoShanghai.
area_019.sff ~ contains config, *.wld, texture, and object files for
Base Camp.


~Effect

The effect folder has *.tga files for blood, and bullet smoke effects.
These are easily edited (for no smoke or fog, or uber blood) using
Photoshop, or The Gimp photo editors. These are not checked by the SF
Engine.

Files Explination:

effect_001.sff ~ contains *.tga image files for bullet smoke, blood
splatter, water impact, several particle types, dust, shadow, fog, smoke
grenade, and explosion. Original Size: 3,220,158 bytes
effect_002.sff ~ contains mp5 and sig551 scope *.tga files.
effect_003.sff ~ contains gold g36c and m16a1 scope *.tga files.
effect_004.sff ~ contains images for each Spray.


~Force
The Force folder contains 3d models and textures of all the characters
and their equipment. It also has all the weapon model previews and
mini-textures. Alter these weapon textures will make the gun look
different in the weapon shop, inventory, and game room. As well as what
other people's weapons look like in game, just not yours. (example,
change M4A1 texture to the Gold M4A1 texture will make it look like
everyone with an M4 has a Gold M4 as but your M4 will look like an M4
while in your hand.) These are not checked by the SF Engine. But make
sure you're consistent with file names or SF wont start.[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Files Explanation:

force_001.sff ~ contains files for most of the weapon positions, weapon
models, and weapon thumb textures. Has facial expression and character
motion animations. Has most base, and armor textures for Delta, GIGN,
GSG9, KSF, ROKMC, SAS, Spetsnaz, and SRG. Has early Christmas textures
as well. Original Size: 41,968,009 bytes
force_002.sff ~ adds the M249 model and texture thumb, as well as
character animations to hold the M249. Original Size: 213,795 bytes
force_003.sff ~ adds skull face mask for Halloween and adds target
texture for training mode. Original Size: 1,380,541 bytes
force_004.sff ~ contains gloves, hat, and boots for Christmas event.
Original Size: 1,262,695 bytes
force_005.sff ~ contains heart bandanna for Valentine's Day event.
Original Size: 255,855 bytes
force_006.sff ~ contains ARTC character. Original Size: 640,433 bytes
force_007.sff ~ contains Black Devil, PPL Event, Clan Event, several
tattoos and armor pieces for Delta, ROKMC, and Spetsnaz. Original Size:
16,138,304 bytes
force_008.sff ~ contains Black Devil, PPL Event, Clan Event, several
tattoos and armor pieces for GIGN, GSG9, and KSF. Original Size:
15,096,954 bytes
force_009.sff ~ contains Black Devil, PPL Event, Clan Event, several
tattoos and armor pieces for SAS and SRG. Original Size: 11,394,298
bytes
force_010.sff ~ contains files for UZI model and texture thumb, plus
character animations to hold UZI. Also adds animation to character when
in a game room. Original Size: 818,377 bytes
force_011.sff ~ contains Christmas Armor, tattoos, event armor(?), red
and blue clan armor, face camo, helmets, goggles, and jungle boots for
ROKMC, SAS, Spetsnaz, and SRG. Also has new base models for Delta, GIGN,
GSG9, and KSF. Adds collision mesh to some characters. Original Size:

force_012.sff ~ contains Christmas Armor, tattoos, event armor(?), red
and blue clan armor, face camo, helmets, goggles, and jungle boots for
Delta, GIGN, GSG9, and KSF. Adds G3_A3 model and texture thumb,
character base parts database, weapon and character armor database, and
the rest of the collision mesh files. Original Size: 9,738,970 bytes
force_013.sff ~ updates weapon and character armor database for
Valentine's Day. Original Size: 9,446 bytes
force_014.sff ~ contains AWP model and texture thumb, adds animations to
hold AWP plus bayonet sheath, red beret, and combat helmet. Original
Size: 1,683,329 bytes
force_015.sff ~ contains Type_97 and Type_89 models and texture thumbs.
Updates weapon and character armor database to add ONLY Type_89 but not
Type_97. Adds animations to hold Type_97 and Type_89. Original Size:
237,024 bytes
force_016.sff ~ contains Alcad_M4, Engraving_PSG-1, Evl_MP5, Evl_SIG551
models and texture thumbs, plus character animations to hold each
weapon. Updates weapons and character armor database. Original Size:

force_017.sff ~ contains Dragon_M4 model, texture thumb, character
animation to hold Dragon_M4, and updated weapon and character armor
database. Original Size: 107,079 bytes
force_018.sff ~ contains M110 SASS model and texture thumb, character
animation to hold it, updated character base parts database, updated
weapon and character armor database. Adds Force Recon including Black
Devil, tattoos, Hawiian event, helmets, red beret, jungle boots, bayonet
sheat, skull mask, goggles, and normal armor. Original Size: 5,020,588

force_022.sff ~ contains Winter Apparel for all characters. Original

force_023.sff ~ contains MP7 model and texture thumb, plus character
animation for MP7. Updated weapon and character armor database. Plus gas
mask and new Valentine's Day bandanna for all characters. Original

force_024.sff ~ contains Gold_UZI model and texture thumb, plus
character animation for G_UZI. Updated weapon and character database.

~Menu

Menu holds most of the interface through out SF including the "killed
by" images, inventory pics, score images, training, CTC, and TDM
interfaces. This is the easiest area to edit and is not checked by the
SF engine. Has rank images, hit indicator, character position HUD and
other in-game interface elements.

Files Explanation:

menu_001.sff ~ contains most item icons, hit indicators, "killed by"
weapon images, weaponshop thumbnails, map loading screens, rank images,

~Sound

Sound obviously contains all the sounds such as gun shots, explosions,
and game music. These are easily replaced with you're on fun sounds. SF
Engine does not check these.
I might add a File Explanation later if I have time.

Files Explanation (provided by UmOkaaaay):

sound_001.sff ~ contains Lobby sounds, bomb noises (defusing, planting,
timer, boom), sounds for Jumping, walking, crouch-walking for all
forces, reloading sounds for all guns, radio sounds for English and
Korean (fire in the hole, move-out, etc.), sounds at Maps, Announcement
noises when is started, completed, or bomb was planted or defused.
sound_002.sff ~ contains English and Korean sounds for the Female forces
(fire in the hole, move-out, etc.)
sound_003.sff ~ contains male English radio sounds used in Soldier
Front, the sound_001.sff English radio sounds are not used in Soldier
Front.
sound_004.sff ~ contains male English Announcement noises used in
Soldier Front (target objective, "A bomb has been defused," "A timed
bomb has been planted"),
the sound_001.sff Announcement sounds are not used in Soldier Front.
sound_005.sff ~ contains male English Target sounds ("Our forces have
acquired the target", "Enemy forces have captured the target") .
sound_006.sff ~ contains sounds for Double Kill, Grenade Kill, Headshot
kill , Special point, Knife kill, multi-kill, and special force.

~Weapon
Weapon has all the weapons along with their attribute files, animation
files, model file, and high res (512 x 512) texture files. These are
what make up the gun you're character uses in game. But not what you see
other people using. (so if you mod an AK in to a Blue AK here, only
you're AK when you're holding it in game will look blue, not the other
player's AKs.) These however can not be modified... yet. So I will not
put a File Explination until they can be. The SF Engine checks these
files, thus they cannot be modified.
